چکیده

This research provided a novel enzyme-responsive antimicrobial carrier aiming at overcoming the volatile loss of active antibacterial components, by employing mesoporous silica nanoparticles (MCM-41) as matrix encapsulation and Zein molecular gate. Since could be consumed bacteria, Zein-functionalized MCM-41 acted an gate improved controlled-release capacity. The results showed that amount capsaicin released from without bacteria was quite low compared with essential oils liberated bacteria. validated delivery hampered existence Escherichia coli (E. coli) Staphylococcus aureus (S. aureus) promoted release encapsulated cargo. rate in climbed growth velocity These functions were realized form controlled diffusion electrostatic interaction, performed both covalent bonding interaction interaction. 2.4 times more effective killing E. 1.2 inhibiting S. than equal free capsaicin, possessed long-lasting activity. responsive material might used promising preservative food industry for activity enhancement.

Lysine-Grafted MCM-41 Silica as an Antibacterial Biomaterial

This paper proposes a facile strategy for the zwitterionization of bioceramics that is based on the direct incorporation of l-lysine amino acid via the ε-amino group onto mesoporous MCM-41 materials. Fourier transform infrared (FTIR) studies of lysine-grafted MCM-41 (MCM-LYS) simultaneously showed bands at 3080 and 1540 cm-1 and bands at 1625 and 1415 cm-1 corresponding to -NH3+/COO- pairs, whi...

ATP-responsive controlled release system using aptamer-functionalized mesoporous silica nanoparticles.

Adenosine-5'-triphosphate (ATP) is a multifunctional nucleotide, which plays a vital role in many biological processes, including muscle contraction, cells functioning, synthesis and degradation of important cellular compounds, and membrane transport. Thus, the development of ATP-responsive controlled release system for bioorganism application is very significative. Here, an original and facile...

Enzyme and voltage stimuli-responsive controlled release system based on β-cyclodextrin-capped mesoporous silica nanoparticles.

Enzyme and voltage stimuli are more biologically compatible in the field of stimuli-responsive systems and release systems based on β-cyclodextrin (CD) and ferrocene (Fc) have attracted much attention. Herein, mesoporous silica nanoparticles (MSNs) have been functionalized with the ferrocenyl moiety (Fc) which interacts with β-cyclodextrin (β-CD) to form an inclusion complex on the opening of t...

A Thin Film Nanocomposite Membrane with MCM-41 Silica Nanoparticles for Brackish Water Purification

Thin film nanocomposite (TFN) membranes containing MCM-41 silica nanoparticles (NPs) were synthesized by the interfacial polymerization (IP) process. An m-phenylenediamine (MPD) aqueous solution and an organic phase with trimesoyl chloride (TMC) dissolved in isooctane were used in the IP reaction, occurring on a nanoporous polysulfone (PSU) support layer. Isooctane was introduced as the organic...

Antifouling activity of enzyme‐functionalized silica nanobeads

The amelioration of biofouling in industrial processing equipment is critical for performance and reliability. While conventional biocides are effective in biofouling control, they are potentially hazardous to the environment and in some cases corrosive to materials. Enzymatic approaches have been shown to be effective and can overcome the disadvantages of traditional biocides, however they are...
